AIRFFERVESCENCE is the name of our camper trailer.  It took 2 months, 350 hours, lots of sweat, tears, and a few dollars to fully restore and upgrade this American classic trailer. It is a 1992 Airstream Classic Excella 1000 Ohio Edition mdoel with the twin bed layout.  It is a rare bird, and it is restored from the ground up - literally.  It has new tires, brakes, jacks, exterior lights, windows, tint, vents, floors, walls, LED lights, beds, shower, counter tops, sinks, paint, new appliances (fireplace,  air conditioner, roof vents, oven/range, microwave, washer/dryer, fridge/freezer, water heater, dehumidifier),  switches, power panels, and solar.  All water, dc, ac electrical, and propane systems and connections are new as well.

Why not just buy a new one?  They don't make them like they used to.  There are 6 of us, and this is the longest Airstream camper trailer made.  I always wanted to put together a car and a tiny home.  This full restoration checks that box.  I also learned a lot a long the way.  Restoring one made more sense than buying a new one.   This was my first retirement project and kept me busy, fit the whole  family, and I learned a lot doing it.

Day 1: Time to Go

The day has finally come when we embark on a cross-country adventure. We 6 are starting in South Carolina and will be driving to Washington. We are excited to see all the different places along the way. We are also a little bit nervous because we have never owned and towed a camper before, but we are up for the challenge. We are hoping to have a great time and make some memories that will last a lifetime.

We have been planning this trip for months, and we are so glad that it is finally here. We have packed the car with everything we need, and we are ready to hit the road. We are excited to cross and explore 10 states as we head west: SC, NC, TN, KY, MO, KS, CO, WY, ID, OR, and WA. We are also looking forward to spending time with our family and friends along the way.

We know that this trip will be a challenge, but we are up for it. We are a close-knit family, and we are confident that we can handle anything that comes our way. We are excited to see what the future holds for us on this adventure.
